What's Central at Central Church of Christ? |
|
"What's Central?" is the most important question we need to answer as a church. It determines why we exist as a church. It defines our purpose, determines our priorities and directs the path we take. It also impacts the decision of those who choose to unite with Central and become a member.
Our logo symbolically reveals what is central at Central Church of Christ.
The empty cross at the center reminds us that Christ is our central focus. We are HIS church. HIS sacrifice on the cross makes it possible for us to have a relationship with God (Romans 3:21-26; Hebrews 9:24-28). HIS perfect life makes it possible for us to come into the presence of a holy God (Hebrews 10:9-25). HE is the one who built the church and who holds it together (Matthew 16:16-18; Ephesians 2:19-22). Therefore, we are committed to make HIM the center of everything we are and do as a church and as individuals. (For more information about "Why Christ Is Central?", click here.)
The individual logos around the cross remind us of four commitments Christ deserves and expects. These four commitments govern how we minister as a church and as individuals. (For more information about each of these commitments, click on the following logos.)
We are committed to LOVE God and worship Him together in vibrant worship services.
We are committed to GROW in our faith by studying together in groups and through a daily quiet time.
We are committed to SERVE others through adult ministry teams, worship ministry team, children's ministry and youth ministry.
We are committed to GO share our faith through an established outreach team, outreach events, supporting missions and through individuals sharing their faith as God provides opportunities.
The arrows around the cross and linked to each logo reminds us that these are progressive and continual commitments that Christ expects His followers to make throughout the rest of their lives.
