GriefShare at Central Church of Christ

GriefShare is a Christian-based, weekly support group that provides help and encouragement for those who have experienced the loss of a loved-one.

 

Videos and other resources provide insights from experts who have made the journey from mourning to joy. The group facilitators are Kevin and Misty Missel.

 

Kevin and Misty are longtime members of Central and credit the GriefShare program with helping them work through their own grief. Kevin was impacted as a teenager when he lost his father in 1994. In recent years, Kevin and Misty have experienced the death of a grandmother, two grandfathers, Kevin's mother in 2009 and their 5-year-old son, Lucas, in 2010.

 

Most people find it hard to come to the first GriefShare session, but soon appreciate the support, insight and encouragement they receive throughout the 13 weeks.

 

The group meets at 6 p.m. on Tuesday evenings in the Upper Room of the Ministry Center from Jan. 17, 2012 through April 17, 2012. (Follow the GriefShare signs.) Child-care is provided.
