To provide practical ministry application
and experience to better prepare the intern for future service, and aid
him/her in maturity as a kingdom leader.

To sharpen the intern's ministry focus
through the development of a working student ministry philosophy and
strategy, and to prepare him/her with the necessary understanding and
confidence to begin, develop and grow a ministry to Jr. High and High
school students.

To be mentored by the student minister in
all areas that relate to effective ministry.

To benefit from the intern's gifts,
insights, and ministry to the church and the work of the kingdom in
Streator.
Central's Expectations of the Intern

Conduct life in a manner that would be
worthy of Christ and His church through speech, attitude, ministry
concern, and lifestyle.

Be willing to serve and lead in a variety
of areas to gain a full appreciation and understanding of the ministry
of the church, in particular, in the areas of student ministry.

Attend staff meetings and ministry team
meetings as outlined and agreed upon as the internship develops.

Learn and lead in the student ministry
programs through teaching classes, leading small groups, attend and
assist during the week of Christ in Youth Conference as well as other
student ministry programs, and trips.

Take a day off as it will be worked out
with the entire staff.

Assist the staff and particularly, the
student ministry in discipleship, outreach, and teaching ministries of
the church.

Under the guidance of the student
minister, have opportunity to develop a strategy for ministry to a
particular need as they determine.

Be willing to read about, learn and
discuss the student ministry of the church and explore his/her own
strengths and weaknesses to further understand his/her abilities to
minister.
What the Intern can Expect from Central
-
The internship time frame is negotiable.
It can be over a summer or the 6 month internship as well. Weekend
ministry before and after the official internship is a possible option
too.

The intern will receive $125 per week
with a love offering received on the last Sunday of the internship.
Payment can be arranged with the intern to be paid in full each week, or
in portions with the remainder sent to the college for tuition. We will
help the student consider tax obligations.

The majority of ministry expenses for the
intern would be covered by the church, such as for registrations to
Christ in Youth Conferences and trips, and food while on such trips.
Personal expenses would be his/her own responsibility.

Housing will be provided by church
members.

A meal schedule will be set up for the
intern throughout the internship. Eating with church members will aid in
getting to know the church body.

The intern will have an office out of
which he will work.

The intern can expect to be challenged in
their thinking, practical application of ministry and Biblical
applications, as well as receiving instruction, mentoring and challenge
to become the best student minister and leader one can become.
